Motorcyclist killed in crash on San Antonio’s Northeast Side identified by authorities

SAN ANTONIO – A Universal City man who died after crashing his motorcycle on Saturday has been identified by authorities.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office said Zachariah Gentry, 31, died of blunt force injuries he suffered in the crash that happened just after 11:30 a.m. in the 5300 block of Walzem Road.

Before the crash, police said the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic.

He tried to pass a vehicle on the right side, but the vehicle turned right into a private driveway.

Police said the motorcycle then collided with the vehicle.

Gentry, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene, police said.
