SAN ANTONIO – UT Health San Antonio infectious disease specialist Dr. Ruth Berggren discussed the latest with COVID-19 and vaccinations in the KSAT Q&A.

The delta variant of COVID-19 originated in India and has gone through multiple mutations.
It has become the dominant variant in the United Kingdom and beyond. It was recently detected in Houston, and Dr. Berggren believes it will gain traction in the United States.
Dr. Berggren says vaccines are less effective against the delta variant.
