Police said the woman and her male passenger were eastbound on Culebra when the suspect attempted to overtake another vehicle by driving into the center turn lane.

Police say the woman then hit a concrete curb near the northeast side of North Navidad and Culebra. She then drove up the sidewalk, where she hit the victim, according to officers.

San Antonio police said the woman then continued traveling east until she hit a chain-link fence. The man and woman then left the scene on foot and were caught by officers a few blocks away.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s office pronounced the victim dead at the scene, and their identity is still awaiting identification.

The woman faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid-death. The man was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon and possession of drugs.

Police say the man and woman are awaiting a bond hearing.
