SAN ANTONIO – The cause of death of a partially covered body of a woman discovered on the far West Side has been revealed by the medical examiner’s office.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that 57-year-old Carla Lynn Boyd was killed by “multiple chop force injuries” but did not specify what type of weapon that was used.

The details came to light about two weeks after the woman was found in her home on White Mulberry on July 14.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office initially said that investigators wanted to speak with a relative, Andrew Boyd Tetens, in connection with the case. He was listed as missing when her body was discovered.

BCSO confirmed Thursday that Tetens was found dead on July 16 in West Virginia with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Tetens had lived with Boyd in the home on White Mulberry, BCSO said.

Boyd was a NISD teacher at Connally Middle School. The school’s principal, Andrew Drumm, released this statement in regards to Boyd’s passing.

“Carla Lynn Boyd was an amazing teacher, colleague and friend to the Connally community for so many years. The staff and students from Connally MS send our condolences to Carla’s family. She will be greatly missed.”
