Floresville ISD announces extended Labor Day weekend due to rise in COVID-19 cases

District will be closed Sept. 3 - 7

Floresville, TEXAS – Floresville ISD is taking an extended Labor Day weekend to address the rising COVID-19 cases on their campuses.

The district posted on its website and Facebook page today that there will be no school from Sept. 3-7.

During this time the announcement said all buses and campuses will be deep cleaned to ensure the safest possible return for students and also provide academic planning time for teachers and staff.

According to the FISD district COVID-19 dashboard, there are a total of 239 active cases among students and staff on its four campuses.

Other small districts have also announced closures for this week including Brackett ISD, Leakey ISD and Medina ISD.
