Body found along Interstate 10 on East Side, SAPD says

Police believe person was hit by multiple large vehicles

SAN ANTONIO – Street sweepers found a body while working along Interstate 10 on the East Side on Wednesday morning, according to San Antonio police.

Officers said the workers came upon body parts in the roadway at around 4 a.m. on the eastbound access road of the 6100 block of Interstate 10, near Foster Road.

Police believe the person was hit by multiple large vehicles. At this time it is unknown when or how the person was hit.

There were no prior calls about a person walking in the roadway, police said.

The name, gender and age of the person were not released. They were pronounced dead at the scene by the San Antonio Fire Department.

The exit ramp and access road at the interstate and Foster Road were closed while officers investigated, but they have since reopened.
