The San Antonio Spurs are honoring head coach Gregg Popovich’s 1,336 record-breaking career wins in a special way—with NFTs.
The basketball franchise announced the “1,336 Coach Pop NFT Collection,” which will consist of 1,336 NFTs, or non-fungible tokens.

Popovich made NBA history Friday, winning his 1,336th regular-season game, the most out of any coach in the NBA.
The collection will feature digital recreations of Popovich’s hand-drawn play cards that helped the Spurs win five NBA Championships. The first five of the 1,336 will be distinct one-of-one NFTs that each feature a different play and court combination.
Those special NFTs will include the original hard copy of the play card, hand-drawn and autographed by Popovich, and a VIP Spurs experience at a game in San Antonio next season, Spurs officials said.
The five unique NFTs will go to the highest bidder in an auction. The additional 1,331 NFTs will go on sale for 0.1 Ethereum a piece.
All proceeds will go to the San Antonio Food Bank, Spurs officials said.
To participate in the auction, bidders must create an OpenSea account and a crypto wallet. The auction is set to go live on March 14 at 9 a.m. Central Time and will be open until March 17 at 9 p.m. Central Time.
