SAN ANTONIO – A man is dead after he was shot by two people trying to steal his truck outside of a West Side restaurant Saturday night, according to San Antonio police.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man as 48-year-old Juan Medina.
The shooting happened around 8:20 p.m. at The Good News Burgers, formerly known as Papa’s Burgers, in the 900 block of SW 36th Street.
Police said Medina was leaving the restaurant when the two men approached him with a gun and demanded his truck.
A fight broke out between all of the men when one of them pulled a gun and fired multiple shots, authorities said. Medina was shot at least twice and died at the scene.
Officers said the two men took off on foot and were seen going south of the restaurant. The investigation continues.
