SAN ANTONIO – A 45-year-old man was shot in the armpit while driving on Highway 90 early Friday morning, according to San Antonio police.
The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. on Highway 90 near South Callaghan Road on the city’s West Side.
According to police, the man was driving his truck on Highway 90 westbound when he was struck by gunfire from another vehicle. The man was hit once in the armpit and had facial injuries from either fragments or glass and pulled over to call for help, police said.
The victim told police he believed the suspect to be a man that he had previously had an altercation with at a different location. The suspect fled following the shooting and has not been found, police said.
The wounded man was taken by EMS to University Hospital in stable condition.
The San Antonio Police Department, San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all answered the call.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
