SAN ANTONIO – Two men were arrested overnight after they led authorities on a high-speed pursuit through Northeast Bexar County in a stolen truck, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident started just after midnight on Friday when a deputy in BCSO’s Gang Unit spotted a truck not yielding to traffic at Interstate 10 and East Houston Street, almost causing a crash.

The deputy ran the license plate and it came back as invalid, BCSO said. Deputies initiated a traffic stop but the driver sped off.
The chase continued through Kirby towards Converse and at times reached speeds of up to 90 mph, deputies said.
BCSO spiked the truck’s tires and the driver tried to turn on Beech Trail Drive and FM 78. The truck then hit a tree and two men tried to run away, but they were quickly apprehended, BCSO said.
Authorities did not release the names and ages of the suspects, but said they are confirmed gang members who had warrants out for their arrests. They suffered minor injuries, but were treated at the scene.
Deputies also discovered the pickup truck was stolen.
While searching the vehicle, deputies found drugs as well as wheels, tires, lug nuts and some gloves, leading authorities to believe they were involved in thefts, according to BCSO.
Deputies are investigating if those wheels and tires were stolen.
At this time it is unclear what charges the men are facing.
