Man being questioned after argument leads to deadly shooting on South Side, SAPD says

A man at the scene died from a gunshot wound, according to police

SAN ANTONIO – One man is dead and another is being questioned by investigators after an argument escalated into a shooting on the South Side, according to San Antonio police.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday at an apartment complex in the 7500 block of Old Corpus Christi Road.

A neighbor notified police that she heard the argument and then what sounded like a gunshot in an upstairs apartment. When officers arrived and went inside, they found a 44-year-old man on the ground with a gunshot wound to his face.

Police said an altercation occurred between the two individuals and the victim reportedly brandished a weapon, and that’s when the suspect in return fired a handgun.

The man shot died at the scene from his injuries, according to SAPD. His name has not been released by SAPD.

Another man, 38, was found in the apartment and is currently being questioned by homicide detectives. As of Friday morning, charges are unknown and pending further investigation.

A firearm was also recovered by investigators.
