Man injured after argument on bus leads to shooting in parking lot, police say

The injured man is in critical but stable condition, according to SAPD

An argument that started on a VIA bus and spilled out into a parking lot left one man injured and another in custody, according to San Antonio police. (KSAT)

SAN ANTONIO – An argument that started on a bus and spilled out into a parking lot left one man injured and another in custody, according to San Antonio police.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. Thursday in the 9400 block of Interstate 35, near Crestway.

Police said the argument between both men started on the bus with a fist fight before it escalated into a shooting in a parking lot.

One of the men pulled a gun and opened fire on the other, striking him in the upper leg, according to SAPD. The 23-year-old man who was hit by the gunfire was taken by EMS to the Brooke Army Medical Center in critical but stable condition.

The armed man fled the scene on foot but was located nearby. The suspect, 24, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, police said.

It’s unclear if both of the men knew each other.
