SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police say a domestic disturbance led to a shooting at a home on the city’s East Side early Tuesday morning.

Officers were called just after 5 a.m. to a home in the 500 block of Porter Avenue, not far from North New Braunfels Avenue after receiving word of shots fired.

According to police, a 29-year-old woman was wounded during an altercation inside the home.

Authorities say they have a detained a 26-year-old woman as a “person of interest”. She was first questioned inside the house and then taken downtown.

The injured woman was shot in her upper shoulder, near her neck, and has a non-life-threatening wound. She is expected to be OK.

SAPD did not say exactly why the altercation occurred. It is also unclear what, if any, charges are expected to be filed.
