San Antonio’s new Tech Port Center + Arena hiring for 100 jobs

Jobs include positions in management, serving, accounting

SAN ANTONIO – The Tech Port Center + Arena at Port San Antonio is hosting a job fair this week to hire for 100 positions.

The job fair will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday (Tech Port Center + Arena only), and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday (Tech Port Center + Arena and vendors) at the venue located at 3331 General Hudnell Road.

Vendors include The Big Bib BBQ, Capo’s Pizzeria and The Pantry.

Interviews will be offered on-site, and those interested can apply early online.

According to a news release, they will be hiring for the following positions:

  • Restaurant manager
  • Box office admin
  • Parking cashier
  • Guest services associate
  • Catering supervisor
  • Bar supervisor
  • Food hall supervisor
  • Bartenders
  • Event manager
  • Bar-backs
  • Bussers
  • Banquet servers
  • Stewards
  • Kitchen supervisor
  • Prep cooks
  • VIP servers
  • VIP experience host and hostess
  • Staff accountant
  • VIP lux host

The arena is expected to be unveiled later this month, and big events are already scheduled for May.

Smashing Pumpkins is first on the events list — the band is playing on May 2 — and tickets are already sold out, according to the website.

Kevin Gates, Carla Morrison, Papa Roach, Rise Against, The Used and Boyz II Men are also playing at the venue this spring and summer.

Concerts are just one aspect of the venue; it’s also a gaming and tech facility that’s expected to be a major competitor for established esports venues.

“We’re bringing the world’s most exciting esports and concert events to San Antonio,” Eric Blockie, Tech Port Center + Arena general manager, said in a release. “To ensure a great guest experience, we are hiring people passionate about great guest service and entertainment.”
