Man shot in leg uncooperative with officers, police say

Officers called around 2:30 a.m. to 800 block of West Theo Avenue

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are trying to figure out how and why a 28-year-old South Side man was shot early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called around 2:30 a.m. to a home in the 800 block of West Theo Avenue, not far from Nogalitos Street and Interstate 35 after receiving word of a man wounded.

According to police, officers arrived to find a man beaten and with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken by EMS to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he is expected to recover.

Officials said the victim however was not very cooperative, so they don’t have much to go on. A description of the suspect was not provided.

At this time, it is not exactly clear as to how or why the man was shot. SAPD said they did find shell casings in the driveway. Two witnesses have also been detained for questioning, police said.

The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all answered the call.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
