Primo, 19, was the Spurs’ first-round draft pick in 2021, at No. 12 overall. Last year, he averaged 5.8 points per game in 50 games played, with 16 total starts. He is expected to take on a larger role this year.
The Spurs said while he will miss the start of the preseason schedule, Primo is expected to be available for the start of the regular season.
He is the second key player to sustain an injury, as forward Keldon Johnson recently dislocated a shoulder. He suffered his posterior dislocation during the Spurs’ open gym. He is also expected to be available for the start of the regular season.
