SAPD, Crime Stoppers seek suspect in robbery of 77-year-old woman at NW Side convenience store

Incident occurred Oct. 17, just before 7 p.m. at 7-Eleven on Bandera Road

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police and Crime Stoppers are looking for the person responsible for the robbery of a 77-year-old woman at a Northwest Side convenience store.

The incident occurred Oct. 17 just before 7 p.m. at a 7-Eleven in the 9400 block of Bandera Road, not far from Braun Road and OP Schnabel Park.

According to police, the suspect (seen above) approached the 77-year-old woman as she was about to enter the store and tried to grab the woman’s purse and run off. That’s when, police say, the victim however held onto the purse, so the suspect hit the woman and then dragged her as she tried desperately to hold onto the purse.

The victim sustained injuries to both her arms and hands, police said.

SAPD said a good Samaritan intervened, and the suspect ran off westbound on Braun Road. Officers searched the area, but the suspect was not found.

Anyone with any knowledge of the incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (210) 224-STOP.

Tips can also be texted to CRIMES (274637) or by visiting the Crime Stoppers website.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
