Arson investigating after home catches fire twice overnight

Firefighters called again to 800 block of Harriman Place around 3 a.m.

SAN ANTONIO – Arson is investigating a house fire on the city’s Southwest Side after the home caught fire twice overnight.

The first fire originally happened around 8:45 p.m. at what officials say is an unoccupied house. But sometime after 3 a.m., another call came out at the same home, which is located in a neighborhood off Highway 90 and General Hudnell Drive.

Firefighters arrived and were able to quickly knock down the fire. There were no reports of injuries.

Authorities say they now believe the fire is now suspicious, because the second fire was not in a part affected by the first fire.

The San Antonio Fire Department and the San Antonio Police Department both answered the call.

The investigation is ongoing, fire officials said.
