Homeowner displaced after Northwest Side fire, SAFD says

The fire happened around 10 a.m. in the 12300 block of Autumn Vista St.

SAN ANTONIO – A homeowner has been displaced following a fire at a Northwest Side home Sunday morning, according to San Antonio Fire Department.

SAFD responded to the fire around 10 a.m. in the 12300 block of Autumn Vista Street.

Upon arrival, firefighters pulled a line for a fire attack and quickly cleared the fire.

Officials say the fire started in the garage and spread into the attic and living room.

The homeowner told officials he was home then and said he was smoking a cigarette and charging his phone in the garage. However, investigators have yet to identify the cause of the fire.

No injuries were reported, and damage is estimated to be about $50,000, SAFD says.

The home was deemed unliveable as it currently does not have power and sustained water and smoke damage. Homeowners told SAFD they would stay with family.
