SAN ANTONIO – A Super Bowl party on the city’s West Side ended with one person getting shot overnight, the San Antonio Police Department said Sunday.
The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. at a home in the 2400 block of San Luis Street, not far from West Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
According to police, officers found a man on the ground with a bird shot shotgun wound to his leg.
Police said the shooting happened during what appeared to be a backyard cookout. The victim ran around the block to a nearby bar parking lot, where he called for help.
Officers found a shotgun in the home, but SAPD says no one at the house was cooperating with police.
The man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital, where at last check, he was considered to be “stable”.
The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all responded to the call.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
