Man opens fire during fight in Hollywood Park; 2 arrested, police say

No reports of any injuries

SAN ANTONIO – Hollywood Park police are investigating an incident that started with reports of shots fired and ended with arrests in a business parking lot.

Those officers had to call for backup from Hill Country Village, San Antonio and Bexar County in order to bring the situation under control early Wednesday morning.

Officers at the scene said Hollywood Park police originally were responding to a call about gunshots fired not far from a parking lot along the access road of Highway 281, just north of Bitters Road.

A group of people were fighting and someone had fired a gun into the air to try to break it up, police said.

When officers arrived, a man tried to interfere with them as they were taking someone into custody. Being outnumbered, the officers called for backup.

Authorities say they ended up arresting two men in their 20s. One of the men was charged with disorderly conduct for firing the gun into the air, the other was charged with interfering, police said.

It also did not appear that anyone was injured.
