SAN ANTONIO – The Spurs on Tuesday updated the public on the progress of their new headquarters on the far Northwest Side.
SSE CEO R.C. Buford and Chief Legal Officer Bobby Perez presented a timeline for the Victory Capital Performance Center to Bexar County commissioners, including several projected opening dates for the $ 500-million-plus sprawling campus.

The center broke ground in November 2021 and will serve as the home of the Spurs’ basketball operations and an event, retail, medical, office and commercial space.
One of the slides presented showed the practice facility opening in August 2023, which would be in time for the Spurs training camp.
SSE officials said a ribbon-cutting ceremony would likely be held in September, and the plaza would likely open to the public later that month.
The Spurs club and restaurant are projected to open in January 2024, and the medical offices by April 2024.
Buford stated during Tuesday’s commissioners court meeting that the progress of the campus indicates the Spurs’ commitment to San Antonio.
“We are currently presenting to our community one of the great human performance campuses in the world and also engaging with our partners in an amazing public park space. We’re partnering with Victory Capital for our naming rights on our performance campus, and we’re excited to have the county join us together in that space,” said Buford. “I want to emphasize San Antonio is our home. As we build our next-generation championship teams, we think it’s incredibly important for us to capture the competitive advantages that are available to us throughout our region.”
County commissioners also granted permission for the Spurs to play more “home” games away from the AT&T Center, including two in Austin over the next two seasons.
The 134,000-square-foot campus is located off Interstate 10 and Loop 1604, near Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
