COMFORT, Texas – Five people were killed in a deadly head-on crash in Comfort on Monday.
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, along with deputies from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene which had a portion of Highway 87 blocked for hours.
A DPS spokesperson said the driver of a small white car headed north disregarded a no-passing zone and struck a black car near the center stripe in the 900 block of Highway 87.
All four people in the white car and the driver of the black car were killed in the crash. None of their identities have been released.
Highway 87 is the road that goes from Comfort to Fredericksburg.
