BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – Several people are displaced after their home in North Bexar County went up in flames, according to Bexar-Bulverde Volunteer Fire Chief Jerry Bialick.

Firefighters tried to attack the fire from inside the home, but the flames became too dangerous, and they went on the defense from outside.

Due to the triple-digit temperatures, firefighters rotated shifts during their response to recover. Additional fire crews came from Selma, Lone Oak, and Hollywood Park.

Fire officials said the home was heavily damaged and the residents were displaced. No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross offered assistance, but homeowners told officials they already had another place to stay.

Construction workers were roofing the home, but it is unknown if it is connected to the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
