Flat tire leads to three-vehicle crash on I-35, no injuries reported

The southbound lanes have reopened.

SAN ANTONIO – A driver’s flat tire caused a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 35 on the Southwest Side, but no one was injured.

According to San Antonio police, a car was heading southbound on Interstate 35 and had a flat tire. The driver became stuck in the middle lane of the highway near Palo Alto Road because he was riding on a rim.

A vehicle crashed into the car, and then an 18-wheeler crashed into one of the vehicles, sending it into the center median. The driver of that vehicle was trapped, but was not injured.

The southbound lanes between South Zarzamora Street and Palo Alto Road were closed but they have since reopened.
