Vehicle strikes CPS utility pole in South San Antonio

Police advise drivers to avoid the area while CPS works to repair the pole

SAN ANTONIOUPDATE at 3:30: Police have re-opened all lanes in the area.

A vehicle struck and split a CPS utility pole in South San Antonio.

According to San Antonio police, the man suffered a medical episode while driving in the 2400 block of South Flores Street.

The impact from the vehicle broke the pole in several places and left it hanging by the wires.

The man continued down the street before finally coming to a stop. His condition at this time is unknown.

SAPD has the road closed and advises drivers to avoid the area while CPS works to repair the pole.
