Firefighters said they arrived to find heavy flames showing on the backside of the house. They managed to put the fire out quickly and without incident.

Fire officials said the home has a second-story extension on the back and that the flames made their way through the kitchen into the attic. A woman and her son were inside the home at the time of the fire, but they made it out safely and were not hurt.

A fire investigation team is now working to determine the exact cause of the fire. The fire is believed to be accidental and damage to the home is estimated at around $85,000.

According to the San Antonio Fire Department website, as many as 14 units answered the call.
