SAN ANTONIO – A 23-year-old man was taken into police custody following a rollover crash on the city’s North Side early Friday morning, according to San Antonio police.
The crash happened around 2:45 a.m. in the 10700 block of US Highway 281 northbound, near the Nakoma exit.
According to police, the man was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control and hit a center cement barrier, causing the vehicle to flip over. The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital as a precaution, police said.
A preliminary police report states the driver of the vehicle was found to be under the influence and was arrested on a DWI charge. He has not been identified. No other injuries were reported.
The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all responded to the call.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, police said.
