SAN ANTONIOUPDATE (April 14): The Bexar County Medical Examiner has identified a woman who was shot and killed by officers on the inner Northwest Side.

Marta Lamar Prater, 49, died from gunshot wounds, according to officials. Her death has been ruled a homicide.


ORIGINAL STORY: A 49-year-old woman is dead after officers shot her on the inner Northwest Side, Balcones Heights police say.

The shooting happened around 8:00 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of N. Crossroads Boulevard.

According to Balcones Heights Police Chief John Jahanara, Marta Lamar Prater had attacked officers with homemade weapons and broke a patrol vehicle’s rear window before she was shot.

Police said Prater was also Tased multiple times, but it did not impact her.
