San Antonio police arrest suspect accused of stabbing man multiple times on Southwest Side

The victim was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, police say

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department said a suspect accused of stabbing another man in the arms and back is now in custody.

Officers said the 37-year-old victim approached them around 1 a.m. Sunday and was able to tell them he had been stabbed by the suspect in a ditch near the 7300 block of South Zarzamora Street.

The victim also gave police a description of the suspect before he was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, police said.

A short time later, SAPD said it found a 39-year-old man who matched the victim’s suspect description near the stabbing location.

The suspect, who has not been identified by authorities, was arrested and taken to the Bexar County jail. He is facing an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge in connection with the incident, SAPD said.
