SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Brahmas lost their starting quarterback for the season as Chase Garbers is out following a wrist injury.

Garbers, 24, had started the first three games of the season, leading the Brahmas to a 2-1 record and presently leads the league in several passing categories, including completions (75), passing attempts (106), touchdown passes (6) and completion percentage (71%).

The injury reportedly happened in the third quarter versus the St. Louis Battlehawks while he was running out of bounds, as he took a hit from a defensive lineman. He, however, remained in the game.

Boerne High School alum Quinten Dormady has been listed as the backup quarterback through the first three games, but the team could choose to bring in another arm for at least depth.

Garbers played his college years for the California Golden Bears, throwing for 6,580 yards and 50 total touchdowns before playing for the Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL. He signed with the team as an undrafted free agent but was eventually released.

The Brahmas next play at home in the Alamodome this Saturday, April 20 versus the Michigan Panthers. The team has seven scheduled games remaining.
