Authorities ID man found dead with stab wound at West Side bus stop

SAN ANTONIO – A man who was found dead with a stab wound at a West Side bus stop earlier this week has been identified.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Frank Hernandez, 24.

San Antonio police said officers received a call for a welfare check at around 9:20 a.m. Monday at a bus stop near West Poplar and North Zarzamora streets, not far from Woodlawn Lake.

According to police, officers arrived to find Hernandez stabbed in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

SAPD searched the area and detained two men nearby. As of Wednesday morning, no arrests have been made in the case, according to police.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
