LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized $5.1 million in marijuana Sunday at a Laredo port of entry.

According to CBP officials, an 18-wheeler hauling a commercial shipment was referred for a secondary inspection at the World Trade Bridge.

During the inspection, CBP officers discovered 98 packages containing a total of 2,323 pounds of pot within the trailer, CBP said.

CBP officers seized the narcotics, the tractor and trailer.

Two people were arrested.
