Police said two men in a white vehicle drove by the three victims and shot several gel beads at them. The victims were injured, though the extent of their injuries is unknown.

Police said the men then drove off. Before the incident, the men were seen walking inside a department store.

SAPD released a surveillance photo of them on Tuesday and asked anyone with information to contact them at 210-207-7635.

Local police departments have previously warned people about the dangers of bead blasters, also known as splat guns or splatter guns, which are toy air guns that shoot water or gel beads.

Some recent incidents were motivated by a TikTok challenge that involves people shooting at unsuspecting pedestrians. Although people may think the challenge is funny, police say the incidents may result in arrests and charges.
