Man takes to TikTok to identify woman who comforted his family after car wreck

Jacob Lopez, 2 daughters, still healing physically and emotionally

SAN ANTONIO – Jacob Lopez remembers nearly every detail from his family’s ordeal nearly two weeks ago.

He was with his two daughters in his pickup the night of June 15, traveling down Quintana Road, when a compact car suddenly pulled out from Fay Avenue right into their path.

“Every day I picture that accident, and every day I picture my girls screaming in the back,” he said, thinking back.

They had just left his father’s house, not far from there, when they unexpectedly detoured to a hospital.

They spent all night—the night before Father’s Day—in the emergency room, with Lopez holding his older daughter’s hand.

The nine-year-old suffered a broken nose and cuts to her face.

“She was full of blood, from her top to her body, just covered in blood,” Lopez said. “Then my daughter, my youngest one, was just in shock.”

Lopez, himself, was left with pain in his leg and burns on his arm from the explosion of the airbags.

Although they’re all still healing from their physical and emotional scars, they can’t help but focus on one bright spot – a mysterious woman who came to their aid in the middle of the scary ordeal, then suddenly disappeared.

“She had very short blond hair, blue shirt, and she was just, like, making sure my girls were safe,” Lopez said. “Through all the commotion, I wish I could have taken the time to thank her because she didn’t have to stop. She didn’t have to do what she did.”

Now, his biggest wish is to be able to thank the helpful stranger. Lopez recently took to TikTok, hoping someone might know her.

In an emotional video, Lopez recounts what happened and how the woman helped them stay calm.

“All I kept hearing is, ‘Everything’s going to be OK, everything’s going to be OK,’” he said, replaying the woman’s words.

The video Lopez shared on TikTok has since gone viral.

He hopes, though, that his appeal will reach just one person—the woman who helped them.
