SAN ANTONIO – The Transportation Security Administration and the San Antonio International Airport are both reporting a high volume of summer travelers.

TSA said it has experienced the three busiest passenger screening days over the last 30 days, an agency record.

The airport, which is experiencing a “record-breaking summer” due to added nonstop flights, suggests travelers arrive at the airport at least two hours before the plane ticket’s listed boarding time.

Earlier this month, SAT added three nonstop flights: two daily domestic flights to Burbank, California, and Philadelphia and a twice-weekly international flight to Torreón, Coahuila, in Mexico.

The Viva Aerobus flight to Torreón, Coahuila takes off on Tuesdays and Saturdays, the airport said.

Politicians from both sides of the aisle gathered at SAT in May to commemorate the upcoming arrival of a direct flight from San Antonio to Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C.
