Hundreds pack plaza at The Rock at La Cantera to celebrate Spurs, NBA Draft

Family friendly event drew Spurs Coyote appearance

SAN ANTONIO – As the NBA Draft kicked off, a “Go Spurs Go” chant echoed through La Cantera.

Hundreds of fans packed the plaza at the Rock at La Cantera to celebrate the San Antonio Spurs during the NBA Draft.

The Spurs own four picks in this week’s NBA Draft. They have officially made a selection of two of four.

The trade caused some confusion to fans, but trust is deep-rooted in this team.

“This is gonna get us a championship,” fan George Garcia said. “We’re gonna.”

The watch party at the Rock was a family-friendly event, and even the Coyote made an appearance.

“I’m here with my grandkids, and we are just enjoying the day, enjoying the Spurs; who doesn’t want to do that?” Jojo Brown said. “That’s what family time is all about. I love that.”

San Antonio currently has two second-round picks (No. 35 and No. 48 overall), both of which will be made on Thursday afternoon.
