The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said threads in the lid may shrink when exposed to heat, causing the lid to fall off during use.

There have been at least 16 reports of the lids detaching that have led to two burn injuries, according to the CPSC.

The affected mugs are in 12, 16 and 20-ounce sizes.

Mugs were sold at various retailers, including Walmart, Target and Amazon, between June 2016 and December of this year.

Consumers are urged to stop using these mugs immediately and contact Stanley for a free replacement lid.
