Celebrate New Year’s Eve at these parties, dinners in San Antonio

Check out where you can also watch fireworks light up the night

SAN ANTONIO – Wondering where you can celebrate the upcoming new year?

New Year’s Eve is coming up, and several places around San Antonio are planning their big dinners, parties, and fireworks celebrations.

Places like SeaWorld San Antonio and the Hyatt Regency San Antonio have announced that they will host events on Tuesday, Dec. 31.

Celebrate SA is one of the events that are free to the public, while other locations will cost hundreds of dollars. However, some places with admission include a free champagne toast and party favors.

Take a look at some places where you can celebrate and welcome the new year:

  • Blue Bonnet Place: For only an $8 admission fee, enjoy live music from The Bill Ayers Band and DJ entertainment from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Blue Bonnet Palace, located at 17630 Lookout Road in Selma. Guests will receive a free champagne toast when the clock strikes midnight. The palace will also have two balloon drops per person. The party is only open to people 21 and over. Tickets can be purchased online.
  • Celebrate SA: The San Antonio Parks Foundation will host a free celebration from 6 p.m. to midnight and will be at Hemisfair, the River Walk, and the streets of downtown. Guests will get to enjoy live music, carnival games, and a 14-minute fireworks display as midnight approaches. This year’s celebration will serve as a tribute to Major Ron Nirenberg as he completes his final term in May.
  • Copa Wine Bar: The restaurant will offer a three-course New Year’s Eve pre-fixe menu from 5-9 p.m. for $30 per person. Click here to make a reservation.
  • Hotel Valencia River Walk: Hotel Valencia will host its “Mad Men” themed New Year’s Eve party featuring a buffet, entertainment, and exclusive overnight packages. The dinner, party, and overnight package starts at $529 per night, while the party and room package without dinner begins at $399. The event is only open to guests 21 and older.   • Hyatt Regency San Antonio: The hotel will have a New Year’s Eve party from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 31. Admission to the ballroom is $200 per person (excluding fees and tax). VIP tickets, priced at $300 (excluding fees and tax), grant access to the ballroom party and include escorted rooftop entry before midnight for a fireworks display. The event is only open to people 21 and over.
  • Moon’s Daughters at Thompson San Antonio: The rooftop party will feature a tattoo artist, a photo booth, a DJ, and local vendors. General admission ranges from $299 per person to packages between $950 to $1,700. More information can be found online.
  • Paesanos Riverwalk: The downtown Italian restaurant will have a 3-course New Year’s Eve dinner menu available on Dec. 31. Dinner starts at $30 per child or $65 per adult. Click here to make a reservation.
  • Rosario’s: The Southtown restaurant and bar will have a rooftop party from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on New Year’s Eve. People can purchase individual tickets or tables for four, six, or eight people. Tickets range from $150 to $1,200. Tickets also include a champagne toast, party favors, and midnight bites.
  • SeaWorld San Antonio: The theme park’s fireworks display will start at 9:15 p.m. on Dec. 31. The fireworks will be viewable from various viewing areas around the park. A VIP seating package is also available. Click here for more information.
  • Six Flags Fiesta Texas: On Dec. 31, guests can enjoy the New Year’s 360 Fireworks Celebration at 9 p.m. The fireworks display will be viewable throughout the park. Nightly fireworks will also be displayed as part of the amusement park’s Rockin' New Year’s Celebration from Dec. 26 until 30. The fireworks display is planned for 9 p.m. at Lone Star Lil’s.
