The overall contest winner will have their poster used for all marketing materials about the Tejano Conjunto Festival en San Antonio on May 15- 18, 2025. They will also receive a prize of $2,000.

Entries are due on Feb. 12, 2025, at 5 p.m. CST. Professional designers, artists and students can apply.

“We’ve had many schools contact us already inquiring about this year’s contest. Students and the public at large look forward to seeing the winning poster each year, and Festival patrons to buying and collecting the T-shirts,” said Cristina Balli, executive director of the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center.

The winners of each category — overall, middle school, high school, college, professional and open — will be announced on Feb. 27, 2025, at Rosedale Park on the West Side, one of the birthplaces of Conjunto music.

According to the University of Incarnate Word, Conjunto music was born by combining German polkas with the lyric style of Tejano canciones rancheras.

The Tejano Conjunto Festival seeks to highlight this aspect of South Texas Tejano music. It is the first of its kind and the longest running in the country.

The contest is free to enter. To learn more, or apply for the contest, click here.
