Alleged car burglar arrested after brief foot pursuit with police, SAPD says

Suspect was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deadly conduct-firearm and evading arrest

SAN ANTONIO – A suspect was arrested after leading officers on a brief foot pursuit on Monday after breaking into cars, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

A 58-year-old man saw a 20-year-old man breaking into vehicles near Fabulous and Mt. Boracho drives on the North Side and called police.

The man who called police followed the suspect in his car. The suspect noticed and began shooting at the other man’s car and at a nearby house.

Officers arrived and located the suspect, and he exited his vehicle and attempted to run away from police, SAPD said.

Police caught up to the suspect and arrested him after a brief chase.

The suspect was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deadly conduct-firearm and evading arrest. His identity has not been released.
