Police searching for gunman after woman shot outside apartment complex, SAPD says

Victim’s father told officers that he heard multiple gunshots

SAN ANTONIO – A 31-year-old woman is recovering in the hospital after she was shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex, according to San Antonio police.

Officers responded to the shooting around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 3700 block of Binz Engleman Road.

Upon arrival, police said they found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her arm. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to SAPD, the woman’s father told officers that they were walking to a vehicle in the parking lot when he heard up to seven gunshots.

He urged his daughter to get inside, but she eventually fell as she was shot, police said.

Information about the shooter is unknown. Officers found shell casings at the apartment complex and another building nearby.

No other injuries were reported.
