Two arrested after good Samaritan fatally struck on Loop 410

Rudy Orozco charged with DWI and Monika Jordan charged with intoxication manslaughter with vehicle

SAN ANTONIO – Two people have been arrested following a crash on Loop 410, where a 37-year-old driver who stopped to help at the scene of a car crash was fatally hit by a passing vehicle, police said.

The crash happened at 2:15 a.m. Thursday near Vance Jackson Road.

Castle Hills police reported that the initial crash happened when a driver was heading the wrong way on the westbound lanes of Loop 410 and struck another vehicle. No one was injured in that crash. Some drivers who witnessed the crash stopped to help.

Police stated that one witness was struck by another car as he exited his vehicle. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as 37-year-old Jesus David Razo Garcia.

Rudy Orozco, 27, has been charged with driving while intoxicated, records show. His blood-alcohol content level was over the legal limit, records show.

Orozco’s bond was set at $5,000. He was released Friday.

The other driver who struck the good Samaritan was also taken into custody. Monika Jordan, also 27, faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle, records show.

Jordan’s bond was set at $75,000, and she was released from jail early Friday.
