Boy, 9, hit in knee after shots fired outside trailer on West Side, SAPD says

Child was taken to hospital in stable condition

SAN ANTONIO – A nine-year-old boy was hit in the knee after shots were fired outside a trailer on the West Side, according to San Antonio police.

The shooting happened just before 10:30 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Leal Street on the West Side.

The victim and his family told police they had been hearing shots fired throughout the evening, according to a preliminary report from police.

While preparing for bed, a bullet came through the trailer and hit the boy above the knee while he was in bed, police said.

The boy was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

SAPD said they did not have a suspect at this time. Their investigation remains ongoing.
