Just under 2,000 residents had been affected by the outage after the accident around 6:15 a.m. Friday near Old Pearsall Road and Loop 410.
As of 11:20 a.m., two customers were still without power, according to a CPS Energy representative who confirmed the outage in a phone call to KSAT on Friday morning.
San Antonio police arrived to find two men ejected from the vehicle, which struck a utility pole, according to a preliminary report from police. A third man fled on foot after the collision, police said.
Both of the men outside the vehicle were taken to the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, according to the report.
Officers were not specific as to how the car ended up on its side near the downed powerlines; however, police believe alcohol could be a factor, an officer on the scene said.
CPS expects the outage to be fully restored sometime Friday, the representative said. The utilities' outage map, at last check, showed the estimated restoration time as 3 p.m.
