DPS says woman killed, 2 men rushed to hospital following rollover crash in Atascosa County

Due to the investigation, troopers say Interstate 37 has been shut down

ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas – The Texas Department of Public Safety said that a woman has died and two others are injured after a pickup truck rolled over and off the interstate in Atascosa County.

The rollover crash was reported just after 11 a.m. on Saturday along Interstate 37 northbound near mile marker 107. For reference, the area of the crash is east of downtown Pleasanton and near the Atascosa River on I-37.

The two injured men were rushed to a hospital, troopers told KSAT. At this time, the extent of their injuries is unclear.

According to a photo taken by KSAT’s Devan Karp at the scene, the pickup — which appears to be a Chevrolet Silverado — came to a stop on a vacated railroad track.

DPS and Atascosa County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the cause of the crash, troopers said.

While both agencies conduct the investigation, DPS said Interstate 37 northbound will be shut down for several hours.
