San Antonio police investigating cause of the crash

SAN ANTONIO – One person is dead and another injured after a head-on collision on the Southeast Side, according to San Antonio police.

Officers responded to the crash at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday in the 3300 block of Pecan Valley Drive.

A 47-year-old man was killed and a 31-year-old man was hospitalized unconscious.

Police said the 31-year-old was driving a black SUV and speeding northbound when they crossed over a median, hitting the silver SUV driven by the 47-year-old head-on.

The drivers were the only people inside their vehicles. No one else was hurt in the collision.

Police do not believe alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash. It is unclear if charges will be filed against the driver of the black SUV.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown.
