Police: Man suffered medical episode prior to crash

SAN ANTONIOUPDATE TUESDAY at 4:25 a.m.:

A man who suffered a medical episode prior to a crash that killed him on Loop 410 last week has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Amar Soojhai, 62, died in the crash.

A cause and manner of death were not immediately available from the ME’s office.

San Antonio police said Soojhai suffered a medical episode before the crash with another vehicle.

The other driver was not injured.

A 62-year-old man suffered a medical episode before a crash on Loop 410 early Friday morning, according to San Antonio police.

The crash occurred just before 6:30 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of Loop 410 near Jackson Keller, according to Transguide.

A preliminary report from SAPD said the man rear-ended another vehicle before crashing into a barrier. The second driver was not injured.

Police and other first responders were performing CPR on the man, but SAPD said in its report the man died.

Two main lanes and a shoulder were blocked near the crash but have since reopened.
