SAN ANTONIO – A man accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl has been arrested, according to San Antonio police.
Cesar Ulises Renderos, 24, allegedly had an ongoing relationship with a teenage girl that lasted several months, SAPD spokesperson Camelia Juarez said on Wednesday.
Renderos is a member of a nonprofit that mentors youth, according to Juarez, but he did not meet the girl through the nonprofit. Police would not identify which organization Renderos worked with.
It is still unclear how Renderos and the girl met, Juarez said.
“I have not committed any crimes,” Renderos said as he was being escorted into a police patrol car.
The girl’s parents reported Renderos on Wednesday. He was arrested by SAPD on a count of sexual assault of a child, and additional federal charges are likely, Juarez said.
Juarez urged parents to be aware of their children’s online presence and who they hang out with.
“Please monitor what your kids are doing online and in person,” she said.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information about Renderos is encouraged to call SAPD’s Special Victims Unit at 210-207-2313.
