San Antonio cancer patients encouraged to sign up for free wig distribution event

The event will be Feb. 8 at the Texas Oncology location in the Medical Center

SAN ANTONIO – Texas Oncology in San Antonio and the nonprofit Angeles Sin Fronteras are partnering up to give local cancer patients free wigs.

Beginning Friday, the organizations will open registration for the wigs.

Wig distribution is set for Saturday, Feb. 8, at Texas Oncology-San Antonio, located at 5206 Research Blvd. in the Medical Center.

Wig fittings will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The groups are expected to fit 70 wigs and distribute cosmetic kits and scarves to cancer patients.

Over the past 12 years, Angeles Sin Fronteras is a nonprofit organization that has helped women undergoing chemotherapy feel better about themselves by donating wigs.

The nonprofit delivers an average of 500 wigs annually in the United States and Mexico.
